Here’s what I’ve created for you…

     I really adore the Island Paradise stamp set.  It reminds me of my honeymoon to Hawaii long time ago.  I also love the fact that this set gives you so many adorable images that allows you to create different scenes, and you can make it as simple or complicated as you want.  For this card I created a simpler scene where you have the three Hawaiian girls dancing at a Luau with a beautiful palm tree, an ocean and sky view that almost emerges into one in the background.

    Here is how I made the card.  I used the largest  Francy Frame Die to cut the Strathmore Bristol paper for the background and the beach.  For the beach I trimmed the paper with the wavy die that’s included in the  Outdoor Landscape Dies.  I used distress ink  and did some blending for both papers and spritzed  it with water so that the colors wouldn’t look flat.  Then I combined the two pieces together.  I wanted to make a square card so I positioned the beach lower on the background instead of lining it up and attached it with double sided tape.

     The girls, the palm tree and the sun was stamped and colored in with copic markers on neenah 110 paper.  I wanted to make the girls look distinct from one another so I colored their hair, skin, flowers  using different colors.  Lastly, I used my white gelly roll pen to add some accents in various places.

     My favorite types of cards to make is an interactive card, so I made the girl in the middle wobble like she’s doing the Hula dance.  I handmade the wobbler with some thin metal wire and tape.  It’s actually really fun to make her shake.  You can watch the girl in action here (I apologize in advance for the quality, but you can still see her wobble):   short Youtube video
